Wade is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cape Town. His specific research interests are in developing environmentally friendly and sustainable methods for the synthesis of biologically important complex molecules. Wade was named as the winner of the Royal Society’s Rising Star Africa Prize in 2023.
